My name is Sara  Mcconnell, Littlebeans is located in Beccaria, Pennsylvania and have been breeding and showing Munchkins with TICA for 20+ years now.  Our mission is to continue to better the breeds quality, personality, and health.

Our kittens have been aired on animals planets Cats 101: Munchkins, on the Marth Stewarts Show, and several magazine features around the world, and we actively partake in public events like AKC/TICA Meet the Breeds to help educate the public. We have also helped in studying the Munchkin genes with well known scientists to determine if the gene that causes their short legs could result in any genetic defects. The results of this study provided that their legs do not cause any known genetic health issues.

About the Breed
Munchkins are extremely easy to take care of. We keep all of our cats and kittens on a free feeding (24/7) Purina kitten food supplemented  twice a day with canned food, cooked and raw foods. When spayed/ neutered we find Purina Indoor normally does the trick. Their coat is super easy to care for, long hairs require a once the week brushing while short hairs typically once a month will do. We only use a basic metal comb. Do not use a slicker brush as it will pull out their undercoat and guard hairs to make their coat appear flat instead of push and it will not grow back in. You should rarely ever need to give them a bath unless you want to. Most of our Munchkins love the water. Our current show kitten will jump in the tub with the kids if we are not careful. We make sure that their first few experiences with getting a bath are calm and relaxing so they have a good experience. They are known for their plushy coats in both long hairs and short hairs. Weekly, we clip kittens nails to get them accustomed to it but as an adult if they are provided a scratching post once a month is ok.
Interested in traveling? Munchkins are great travel companions and often enjoy exploring new areas.

All of our kittens go home around 12-16 weeks old based on size. They go home current on vet care, deworming, flea treatment, and TICA registered. Our contract includes a basic health guarantee and a 3 year genetic health guarantee and a 72 hour basic health guarantee.

If you have any question or would like to talk more please reach out to us. We love families who want to be properly educated regarding this amazing breed. Even if you decided to get a kitten from another breeder we are always here to help.
