Standards VS Non-standards
Munchkins have a natural mutation in which not all kittens are born with short legs. "Standard" and "non-standard" are common terms you will come across when looking for a kitten." Standard" kittens will have short legs and "non-standards" will have long legs, the same as a domestic cat. Although "non-standards" lack the primary breed trait they still maintain the amazingly personalities that this breed is so well known for.

​Littlebeans breeds only TICA registered Munchkins and Minuets.
Short legs does NOT mean it is a Munchkin, if your kitten has another breed in it's pedigree/mom/dad it is no longer a Munchkin, even with short legs.  The only permissable outcross for Munchkins are domestic cats in order to continue to build blood lines. No other pedigree breed may be used.
Munchkins do not have folded/curled ears, curly or no coat, short tails, ect. 
Minuets originated from Munchkins that were bred to the Persian breed group to create a more kitten like appearance with smaller ears and larger eyes.

TICA only recognize/ have approved 3 short Legged Breeds. All other breeds are not recognized, monitored, or encouraged due to extreme health concerns. Littlebeans strongly advises against supporting such breeds due to health issues and shorter life spans. Should your family choose another breed of short legged cat please do your research regarding genetic illness of EVERY breed that has been introduced into your kitten's lines PRIOR to bringing them home. Ask the breeder about genetic testing of each parent prior to purchase.
